CGS & CHS: EARTH DAY 2024 (T-SHIRT ORDER CORRECTION)
Earth Day 2024 is rapidly approaching. It is a great opportunity for our staff and students to show their love of the planet and our community through a variety of activities linking Chester schools and community together in the effort. We are now taking T-Shirt orders and the order form is attached. All orders must be submitted by April 9th, 8am. Please makes any checks payable to CHS. CHS Orders to Mrs. Hankins, Mrs. Mueller, or CHS Office. All feeder Grade Schools to have teachers compile orders for their offices by above deadline. Thank you
CHS: Due to no school today, scholarships will be due tomorrow, Wednesday, April 3, at 3:00 in the student services office.
Due to power outages in parts of the district, school will be canceled today, Tuesday, April 2nd. Stay safe as the community recovers from the storm.

CGS & CHS: Tomorrow Wednesday March 27, 2024 will be an early release day leading into our Spring Break. Our next day of student attendance will be Tuesday April 2nd. We wish all of our students a restful and safe break and look forward to the remainder of our school year. Thank you
CHS REMINDER: Prom tickets will go on sale next week April 2nd, 3rd & 4th during lunch. Single tickets are $20, and Couple tickets are $35. Out of town guest forms are required to be turned into the office by Thursday April 4th.

CGS & CHS: We will have our next Positive Give Back day on Wednesday, April 3. This will be our school-wide collection for Love, Abby. We know it is a little early but, with the upcoming Easter break, we wanted to get you the information now. Faculty and staff will still donate $5 and students may donate $1. The theme is Summer Vibes and everyone can wear their favorite summer clothes.

CHS Spirit Blanket Fundraiser! The Freshman Class will be selling Spirit blankets at the first Home Co-Ed Track Meet on March 26, 2024. The blankets are $25.00 each. We will expect Cash or check. These blankets are great for outdoor events or hanging out at home.
CHS & CGS: Stop the Bleed Training
Today Chester Memorial Hospital provided training for the faculty and staff of Chester CUSD139. Faculty and staff from both the grade school and high school participated and learned techniques to stop bleeding in the event of accidents and injury in order to provide needed time for emergency responders to arrive. Additionally, the hospital provided emergency care bags for classrooms with supplies explained in the training, such as tourniquets. The district thanks Chester Memorial Hospital for the opportunity to receive this valuable information.
CHS: PSAT/SAT & College and Career Fair were a GREAT Success!
Today was the PSAT and SAT for our students and they did a great job navigating the new electronic testing procedures as well as doing their best throughout the day. Additionally, today was the reboot of our College and Career Fair where students had an awesome opportunity to meet with representatives from colleges, military and businesses. We would like to thank all the parties who participated and made this a great day for our students. We would also like to thank our students and staff for their hard work helping make the event such a positive experience. We look forward to serving the students and community through this process for many years to come.

Congratulations to Jazzi Merideth!
She qualified for the Indoor Illinois Top Times meet.
She is in the top 24 in the entire state of Illinois in Class A in the 60 m hurdles. Jazzi will compete tomorrow at Illinois Wesleyan.
Be sure to wish her good luck :)
On Wednesday March 20th, Mike Pries from Fast Stop presented a check to the Agriculture Department/FFA Chapter from the February Fuel Our Future Fundraiser that FS ran. Pictured with Mike Pries are Mr. Blechle (CHS Principal), Ms. Millburg (CHS Ag Teacher), and Ag students Mason Ward, Landen Conder, Jackson Scanlan, & Aidan McKinney. The funds raised from the Sparta FS, Prairie Du Rocher FS, and Red Bud N&B FS locations were split between the schools in Randolph county that have Agriculture Departments/FFA Chapters. Also receiving a check from the fundraiser were Sparta, Red Bud, Steelville, and Christ Our Savior. Thank you to Fast Stop for your continued support of the area Agriculture Departments and FFA Chapters!

Once your awards are completed please move into the gym for pictures or exit the cafeteria so the next sport can start their awards.
Snacks and drinks will be available.
Athletes must be present to receive their award; plaque, certificate, pins, patches, C or numbers. If an athlete is not present, their absence must be excused from administration to receive their award(s).
