CHS: Tomorrow, Tuesday 3/19/24, students and staff will have an opportunity to complete the 5 Essential Survey during 5th period. Data from this survey is reported in our school report card and highlights Chester in our state.

CHS: On Friday March 22nd, CHS Seniors will have a College and Career Exploration Day. Seniors will not be required to be be in the building this day but are expected to participate in one or more of the following: 1) attend the CHS College and Career Fair located in Colbert Gymnasium from 9:30-11:00 am where CHS Seniors and their families are welcome to meet with over 45 representatives from colleges, military branches, and businesses, 2) use the day to work on their resume, 3) visit a college or possible future employer.

CHS & CGS: Board of Education Meeting Thursday 3/21/24 in CHS room B217. The meeting opens to the public at 7:30pm.


All last week...mischievous Leprechauns were up to no good at CGS!! Students set SO many traps for them and after one escaped Mr. Blair's office during morning announcements on Friday, everyone has been on the lookout! And this morning...CGS FINALLY caught one 😎🍀

CHS: Winter Sports Awards Night

7:20 Doors Open 7:30-8:15 Boys Basketball
Once your awards are completed please move into the gym for pictures or exit the cafeteria so the next sport can start their awards.
Snacks and drinks will be available.
Athletes must be present to receive their award; plaque, certificate, pins, patches, C or numbers. If an athlete is not present, their absence must be excused from administration to receive their award(s).




Yesterday, Chester Grade School had the privilege of hosting the Monroe-Randolph Young Authors Conference! Students enjoyed a presentation by Children’s Author, Julie Turnipseed, and then went into individual classrooms to create different projects based on storytelling! THANK YOU to Kelton Davis, Bethany Hoggard and the ROE 45 crew, and to our local classroom presenters and volunteers for making this an amazing experience for all of the students! AND….CONGRATULATIONS to CGS’s very own Young Authors! We are very proud of you!!

Math is a piece of cake!....No, wait...Pi!! CGS Junior Hi likes Pi!! These students had fun celebrating Pi day on 3.14 last week!







CHS & CGS: On Friday March 15, 2024, Chester High School hosted a presentation by nationally recognized student character development specialist Jim Kestner. He gave an inspirational and insightful presentation about the impact of perspective on classroom management and student experience of the classroom environment. All teachers, paraprofessionals and administration from CHS and CGS attended and will have an opportunity to meet with him further on Monday March 18th, as he tours our buildings with administration.

CHS: On March 14th, CHS held the 2nd Annual Senior BBQ. Seniors enjoyed an all you could eat BBQ, of burgers, hotdogs and drinks. They also had an opportunity to throw bags, play football, and some kickball on W. O. Smith field, as well as spend time with friends. It was a great afternoon with a respectful group of CHS Seniors.







CHS: On March 14th, the Chester Women’s Club held the 13th Annual Senior Tea. Attendees enjoyed great conversations, a wonderful presentation, excellent treats, and of course.. tea! Attendees were also given beautiful key rings - one with their graduation year and another with tea cups. It’s something the students look forward to every year! Thank you so much for inviting us! Can’t wait for next year!
